Church Board Nominations

The church board is composed of men and women who are elected bi-annually to serve the body of Christ. They are not elected to rule over the body, but to be servants to the body.

Someone once said, "Reduced to simplest terms, the board's goal should be to ascertain the will of God, and then to translate His will into action." The role of board members is an extremely important one. It calls for commitment, sacrifice, flexibility, understanding and cooperation. It calls those who have shown maturity in their faith and a commitment to the beliefs of the church, to service. Church Board Responsibilities

The following is a sample of the main responsibilities of the church board. A complete listing can be found in the church Manual.

Serving on the Board
If you are a formal member of the Cornerstone Church of the Nazarene and would like to be nominated to the church board, we welcome you to put your own name forward. But before you do, we encourage you to prayerfully consider the teachings in 1 Timothy 3 as it summarizes much of what is expected of spiritual leaders.

To help you discern, we ask you to consider the following questions. We are not asking you to give us an answer to each of these questions - we only offer these as something that you need to ask yourself:

- Do you know and understand the doctrines of the church?
- Do you know and understand the covenants of Christian Character and
     Conduct?
- If you are married, do you have the support of your spouse?
- Will you be able to attend meetings on a monthly basis?
- Have you been attending worship services regularly?
- Have you been seeing to your personal growth through Bible Study and
     Prayer?
- Have you been supporting the church in your giving?
- Is there something in your life that will reflect negatively in your spiritual
     life?

If you are interested in serving on the board yourself, or if you would like to nominate someone else for a position on the church board, please complete the following form and submit it online.
